The FC Porto midfielder, speaking at the
New Balance launch of his club’s new
shirt, says the ‘quiet’ Real Madrid star
is the greatest on the planet
FC Porto midfielder Andre Andre says
there’s another side to ‘best-in-the-
world’ Cristiano Ronaldo, insisting the
Real Madrid star s just a ‘quiet, normal’
guy.
Andre lined up alongside the three-time
Ballon d’Or-winner as part of the
Portugal side in qualification for the
ultimately victorious Euro 2016
campaign.
And the 26-year-old midfielder, who
was not included in Portugal’s final
squad for the Euros due to injury
problems, has rejected claims the
Madrid superstar Ronaldo has been
swept up by his worldwide fame.
“He is a very quiet person, a normal
person,” said Andre at the launch of
Porto’s New Balance shirt for the
2016-17 season.
“People do not know do not know the
quiet side of Cristiano.”
The former Vitoria Guimaraes man
went on to say that the future looks
bright for the national team, and
branded Ronaldo as the best on the
planet.
“Portugal have got top coaches and the
best player in the world [Cristiano
Ronaldo],” Andre continued.
“Each person has to feel proud of their
national beam. The Selecao is also
important for immigrants who have left
the country. Our team unites everyone.
Only those who are not Portuguese
wouldn’t love the Selecao.”
